I dont have any first hand knowledge but i might be able to help but have a few questions
Are you planning on removing one 225 and keeping the other or removing both and powering with something new?
How much does the boat weight?
What speed does she run now?

hey capt tyler,I don't know that much about the boat. She is currently powered with twin 225 suzukis, runs about 50 mph according to current owner. I would like to re power with a 225 honda. I am a comm. fisherman and feel the twin zukis would eat me out of house and home with fuel prices being what they are.. the boat supposedly came from gov. after a drug bust.

Gotcha ,
Propped right a 225 might get you 18-20knts, since your going with a new engine what about A yamaha 300 HPDI. Its right at 900 pounds, the zuks are 1160 for both. That way you reduce weight and get a stronger motor.

They us those 33 eduardonos as ferries in S America an around the carribean; set up with twin 225s they transport 20 or 30 passengers and/or cargo... A local FL guy had one as well set up with twin150 etecs that I used to see on one of my local canals but I never met him or got to talk to him about performance. I think a single 225 with the right wheel would push 3 fisherman and 2000# of fish quite well, getting at least low 20's cruise... IMHO. Dont mke the mistake everyone ele does on these boats and overpower them or make them overly complex... keep it simple. That boat was never designed for IO power, so if you go that way you never know what yoy are gonna get. I wish I had one of these huills when I was commercialy fshing, would have been a great platform for offshore work. I had some cool pics of some of them i took in Bocas dl Toro Panama, but cant seem to in them now.

THANKS DOC, I found a pair of 130 hondas to put on her. I cut out the well and hope to hang them on a motor bracket out the stearn. we are putting one level deck in her now and will put a small pilot house where the console was. big expense so far is tanks. fiberglass and ethanol dont mix so I have to have aluminum ones made. damm high dollar. Very exciting project with very little to compare her to.
