This is the J-18 Imemsa I purchased last week.  The panga is very dirty but only needs a small amount of glass work on one rail (about 12 inches).  I estimate the age to be about 15 years due to the rolled under stern.  It also weighs more than the pangas built today.

Panga being deilvered to restoration shop in Colonia Cetina Gasca, Puerto Morelos.  Roberto and I discussed modifications to be made...looked at sketch or two and discussed ideas.  All modifications will be made utilizing fiberglass only...no wood will be used.   Work wil start in 2 days.

Sure looks like an older J-18 to me.  Should be a great boat with a 25 - 40 hp motor.   Keep some pictures coming

Installation of seats, floor and casting deck.  The rob rail has been repaired and awaiting final sanding.  Taken from stern.

OK boys and girls, here they are as promised.  If you remember, I purchased the panga for $500.  I spent just under $1500 on the restoration giving me a grand total of less than $2000 in the boat.  All improvements were made with the fly angler in mind.  I hope you like the pictures.  The panga is scheduled to go into operation next week and will be powered by a Yamaha Enduro 40HP...the engine recommended by Yahama.  Thanks for looking.  Tom
