Hey guys me again, I'm trying to finally decide on which motor to go with. I'm deffinately going with the Armstrong 30" bracket with swim platform.

Tid bits of info......Exchange rate from Cayman dollars to USD is (0.82KYD to 1.00USD) and we pay $5.35KYD per imperial gallon of gas. (Yes it's expensive here...we don't pay tax but we have to pay import duties)

Here are my choices....

Yamaha F225 v6 3.3L, 608lbs, $16,900KYD

Or

Yamaha F200 i4 2.8L, 489lbs, $14,900KYD

Both include props, guages and controls.

1. Do you think the 200 will be underpowered?

2. Which one do you think will be more fuel efficient?

3. What do you think the difference in top speed would be between the two?

4. Is it worth paying $2000 more for 25 extra horsepower and 119 more pounds of weight?

5. My dealer has the F200 in stock but the F225 is not and will take 12-16 weeks to arrive on island from japan.

I have a 26 Panga with a 150 ETECH on it, and at 4000RPM it will do 26MPH.

I know 5% of the time would be at WOT so I think the v6 would have more torque down low where you need it. Thoughts?

Get the 225. If you don't you will always wonder. I'm getting 39 mph with a 225 Mercaha. I cruise at 28mph at 4000rpms. I was hoping to get 30mph at 3800rpms.
